A delegation from Stork Davies Legal Advisors contributed to a 240-strong contingent of lawyers, judges, and other professionals at The Piddington Society‘s 10th Bali Conference in Uluwatu.
The firm was also a major sponsor of the event for the first time, with managing principal Michael Stork introducing the Sunday morning program.
Over the past decade or so, the conference has established itself as a calendar highlight for Western Australia’s legal sector, offering a mixture of professional development and social events over a three-day program.
Funds raised from Piddington initiatives also drive a variety of access-to-justice projects. These include supporting community legal centres, legal education for First Nations students, and scholarships and other financial support for the next generation of law students.
In addition to its sponsorship contribution, Stork Davies ran a special “Piddington Matters” program over the course of the conference. Attendees were invited to vote for one of three charitable causes, with the firm committing to a separate donation to the cause with the most votes at the end of the conference.

The firm is pleased to confirm that it has followed through on its commitment by donating $1,000 to the runaway winner of the Piddington Matters program, Bali Women Crisis Centre Legal Aid, a non-governmental organisation that aims to be a learning centre of legal services for women and children, and actively engages in advocacy activities for the realisation of gender equality and justice.
According to the Bali Women Crisis Centre, the funds donated by Stork Davies will be “allocated to support urgent casework on violence against women and children, including legal handing in the field such as court-related expenses and other associated costs”.
